          Listed below are the summer music camps that we are aware of at this time.  The Summer Scholarship Application for the Junior Music Festival three-year consecutive SUPERIOR & UNANIMOUS SUPERIOR winners in grades 7 – 12  is available on the OFMC website (www.ofmc.org) or by mail from me.  To qualify, students must belong to a Junior Club,  to a Teacher’s Club or have paid $15 to be an OFMC Jr. Special member.  Please make additional copies for your students who qualify.  Note also that the applications need to be filled out and returned to me no later than May 15.

          The summer music camps must be located at OFMC affiliated colleges and universities in Ohio.  OFMC will provide $100 to the college (which should be deducted from your payment) toward the cost of the tuition for each selected student. The students may participate in an event different from the event in which they performed at the Festival.  The cost of the accommodations, meals, and transportation is the responsibility of the student.  The following is a list of the participating schools of music, the website, or the contact person & phone number to request a brochure & registration form.  (Most applications are now available on-line.)

University of Akron Band Camp -- June 15-22. Commuter students, $250; overnight students, $475. For students entering grades 7-10. Rehearsals, sectionals, technique classes with UA faculty members. Call 330-972-6919 or e-mail UABands@uakron.edu.

Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea – www.bw.edu    Applications may be downloaded.  1. String Camp (Grades 4– 9); June 15 -20; Registration due May 15.  2. Band Camp June 22 - 27 for woodwind, brass and percussion students in grades 4-9. Reg. by May 15.

3. Summer Music Institute - Grades 8 – 12 - July 6 - 19 – in strings, voice and winds for serious high school musicians  (audition required) Application by April 15.

Bowling Green State University – All information available in March on line at www.bgsu.edu/colleges/music  SESSION I: June 8–13  a. Brass Camp  b.  Woodwind Camp c. Vocal Arts Camp.  SESSION II: June 15-20/21   a. Piano Camp b. Steel Drum Camp c. String Orchestra Camp.   SESSION III: June 22-27/28  a. Musical Theater Camp b.  Recording Studio Camp c. Cleveland Institute of Music - www.cim.edu  Applications available on line;  Summer Chamber Music, June 16-27 Tuition = $800. A non-refundable application fee of $35 is required with application. Live auditions Apr. 6 from 2-6 p.m.  Upon acceptance, $400 is due May 19. The final installment of $400 is due June 2.  Summer Sonata for pianist ages 9-18 who have reached the sonatina level or above.  Application deadline: March 17.  Audition required April 13 & 20.  Cost: same as Chamber Music.  Get application from CIM, on line, or at 11021 East Blvd., Cleveland, OH 44106, or call CIM Preparatory Division at 216-791-5000, ext. 371 for more information.
