The
Marjorie Neville Collaborative Piano Competition (for accompanying)
Purpose: This competition
is established to offer opportunity to the piano student who prefers
accompanying to solo playing. Being a successful accompanist is an art.
Applicant
must be:
Award: The $1,000 award will be determined by the adjudicators, whose
decision will be final. Unless high standards of performance are met, no
winner will be declared. There will be a $200 honorarium to the soloist.

Audition:
1.
Applicant will be required to play two pieces from different
historical periods of intermediate level and above difficulty.
2.
The music should be a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 20
minutes in duration.
3.
The accompanist should bring a soloist with whom she/he has been
working and a copy of the music for the judges (no photocopies).
4. The applicant may be
asked to sight read a piece of the judges' choice.
